Java Eagle

                    

Javanese eagles are classified as very rare. This bird is protected under the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture. 427/Kpts./Um/8/8/1970.On January 10, 1993, Eagle Java has been designated asEndangered Wildlife. In the mythology of the Indonesian nation, as avehicle believed to Java Eagle god Vishnu. In addition to the Javaneseeagle-like bird "Garuda" symbol of the Republic of Indonesia. Javanese eagles are large (60 cm) with a prominent crest. Adults:crested crown and the whiskers (whiskers) in black, the red side of the head and neck brown, dark back and wings, tail brown striped blackand white throat with the middle black striped; the bottom of the otherwhitish red striped dark brown. Immature bird whitish or reddish on thebottom and without lines or streaks. Also found transitional forms,
Forest habitat is open wooded area on the hill and mountain areas.Generally seen perched on branches of tall trees or defend territoryfrom other birds of prey in the air. This bird is endemic in Java. Spreadamong others in West Java (Ujung Kulon, Mt. Mist, Mt. Salak, Mt.Pangrango Gede, Mt. Papandayan, Gn. Patuha), Central Java (Gn.Segara, Karanganyar, Gn. Slamet, Mt. Besar, Gn . Prahu, Mt. Merapi)and East Java (Gn. Willis, Mt. Arjuno, Gn. Iyang, Meru Betiri, Kalibaru,Ijen, TN Alas Purwo).
Java is a chicken hawk food, bats, squirrels, rats, snakes and lizards.Still less is known about makanannya.Sarang form a thick pile of twigsin tall trees. Tree nesting birds are most favored by the Java Eagle is a tree Rasamala (Altingia excelsa). Eggs one item, it was white speckledreddish brown. Young birds begin to fly around the age of 11-13 weeksafter hatching, and flying close to its mother until about age 1.5 years. In Java recorded nesting from May to August.
