His name is interpreted as a "cliff hanging" and is the second most important place for Ortthodox Eastern monasteries in Kalambaka,Greece after Mount Athos. Its location between the river and themountains of Pindus Peneios. These monasteries have a set ofpillars of rock cliffs in the background. Included in the UNESCO world heritage area, is now a shelter for six monasteries and is one of the important rock climbing locations.
