The fort was originally built in 1545 by the king of Gowa to X ieTunipallangga Ulaweng. In this castle of Prince Diponegoro wasarrested, when he was exiled by the Dutch colonialists from the land of Java to Manado, but were eventually placed in this fort.
Fort Rotterdam is its location was in the midst of this city now becomea museum, where we can see things ancient and historic is used whenthe kings of Gowa struggle against the Dutch.
