Mount Everest, Nepal

Rising 29,035 feet (8856 meters) above sea level, Everest is the tallest mountain on Earth. For several decades, reaching a peak of this giant has been regarded as one of mountaineering's biggest achievement. Sir Edmund Hillary and Norgay reached this achievement tightened in 1953 when they approach the summit along the South Col route. Since then, more than 2,000 others have made ascents via the South Col, so far, the most successful route up the mountain.
