BATIK approved by UNESCO as cultural heritage of Indonesia is not the original object of pride for the nation of Indonesia. Some people have perpetuated their lives to preserve this cultural heritage and one of them is Hadi Nugroho Yogyakarta batik museum founded and owner of this museum. The museum was established on May 12, 1977 at Jl. Dr. Sutomo No. 13 A Yogyakarta. The museum is inhabiting an area of 400 m2 and also used as residence owners. Batik collections of this museum more than 1,200 consisting of 500 pieces of batik cloth, batik cap 560, 124 canting (batik tool), and 35 pan and dyes, including nights and is the oldest collection of batik work in 1840.
Batik-batik in the museum come from a variety of styles such as batik batik of Yogyakarta, Solo, Pekalongan, and other traditional styles in the form of long cloth, gloves, and so on. Motive mostly coastal motif, fringe, bright moon, and the motive esuk-afternoon. Other collections include the work of its owner like a picture of Indonesia's first president Sukarno, Soeharto, Megawati Sukarnoputri, Hamengkubuwono IX, portrait of the hero's face and Prince Diponegoro, Imam Bonjol and embroidered face of Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa. The museum was never received MURI for Embroidery greatest works, namely batik cloth measuring 90 x 400 cm ² and a year later was awarded a plaque from the same institution as initiators of the founding of the Museum.
