Located on the north side of Yosemite national park, 900 m-highgranite monolith (3000 ft) has a steep cliff that is very confusing.Vertical ascent is very challenging for rock climbers. So named by the Mariposa Battalion during their exploration in 1851 which in Spanish means "the captain" or "the boss". There is a path along the edge of Yosemite Falls to the summit of this steep cliff, but theextraordinary difficulty lies at the crossing on the surface of thegranite. It is said that granite here has been outstanding for morethan 100 million years. The more the top quality granite turn into TaftGranite and some parts are formed on the ice age is expected to melt.
